Cowpea Festival

Charleston, TN

The " harvest festival with the funny name celebrates agricultural history".

Charleston, TN. was once a large grower and exporter of cowpeas and was known as the "Cowpea Capital of the World".

Cowpeas is the general name of for more than 50 varieties of peas, including black eyed peas, field peas, crowder peas, silver and purple hulls, southern peas and more.

Admission is $5.00 for adults.  Children 17 and under free

Everyone drives their own car so they can leave when they want.
