Rev. Nancy and Rev. Shelvis Smith-Mather have served in East Africa for nearly two decades, in efforts CNN and NPR described as “enriching the world.” Nancy led education initiatives to address widespread illiteracy. Shelvis—a University of Oxford graduate—helped develop a peace institute through RECONCILE that trains leaders nationwide. Currently, Shelvis serves as the RECONCILE Peace Institute Advisor, working with Sudanese and South Sudanese colleagues and Cambridge University to review, revise, and update the peace institute curriculum.

Shelvis will be with us on Sunday, March 22, to share the work of RECONCILE during Sunday School and in worship.Please plan to join us for his engaging and important message.

Wednesdays in March | 5:30 p.m.

Each Wednesday evening in March we will gather for a time of Lenten learning and fellowship. There are 3 tracks from which to choose - Arts, Religion/Sociology, and Bible Lessons, each led by a different teacher each week. We’ll begin at 5:30 p.m. with a soup dinner, then transition to our learning opportunities, and wrap up with group prayer. Please join us as we walk through this season together.

Fish for Lent - or not - there's something for everyone! Join the Dining Out group on Friday, March 27, at 6:00 p.m. at the City Cafe Diner, 511 Broad St. Call/text Martin at 937-609-4681 by noon that day if you want to meet at the church for a ride.

March 28 | 11:00 a.m.

The annual church egg hunt for children through 3rd grade is March 28 from 11:00-1:00 at the Rushworth’s. The event includes the egg hunt and a picnic lunch together on the lawn. Those participating are asked to bring a bag of wrapped candy and a dozen plastic eggs. Don’t forget your basket for the hunt!

How has the Bible been preserved and transmitted to us? How did early Christians decide which writings to include in the Bible? The Tuesday Bible Study will work through the book How We Got the Bible to consider answers to these and other questions. All are welcome each week at 2:00 p.m. in the Elmore Room.
