NAMIWalks is almost here! Join the Second Pres team as we participate this year on October 5 at Coolidge Park! NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) is dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with mental illness and their families through support, education and advocacy. NAMI advocates at the county, state and national levels for non-discriminatory access to quality healthcare, housing, education and employment for people with mental illness.

World Communion Sunday was first adopted as a denominational practice in the PC(USA) in 1936. Today it is celebrated worldwide on the first Sunday in October, bringing churches together in a service of Christian unity to lift up the global Church and to remember that by virtue of our baptism, we are connected to a worldwide community. After worship that day we’ll enjoy a potluck lunch. The Fellowship Committee will provide the meat, dessert, and drinks. Please bring a side with an international flair as we celebrate this special day!

Begins September 9

The Tuesday Bible study will begin meeting again at 2:00 on September 9 and continue into December, except for November 18, when Presbytery will be meeting at Second. We’ll continue our exploration of Old Testament prophecy using John Goldingay's Daniel and the Twelve Prophets in the series The Old Testament for Everyone. We will begin with Hosea.
